Introduction
This privacy policy applies to all websites and mobile applications owned and operated by Micron Agritech, as well as communications between you and us as a business.
Who we are
When we refer to ‘we’ (or ‘our’ or ‘us’), we are referring to Micron Agritech Limited (company number: 646959) and we are the controller of your personal data for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (“Data Protection Law”). We are based in Dublin and have our registered offices at GW117, Greenway Hub, TU Dublin, Grangegorman, Dublin 7, D07H6K8, Ireland.
Micron Agritech provides the Micron Kit which allows farmers and vets to test animals for parasites on-site and get results within 30 minutes.
What data we collect and process
When you visit our website, mobile applications, get in contact with us or use our services, we collect personal data. The ways we collect it can be broadly categorised into the following:
Information you provide to us directly or which is otherwise made available to us: When you enquire about or use our products and services, use our website or mobile applications or otherwise engage with us, we may collect personal data about you. This could include, but is not limited to, when:
- you or others enquire about our products and services;
- you or others request a demo of the Micron Kit or our products and services;
- you or others give us information about you verbally or in writing. This may be at a trade show or a co-op for example;
- you open an account with us;
- you, or others (e.g. your vet), access and use our products and services;
- you fill out a contact form on the website;
- when you visit our website, mobile applications or other online services;
- you make a support request to our team in relation to our products and services or our website and/or apps;
- you apply for a job or a placement with Micron Agritech; or
- you sign up to our newsletter on the website.
You are not required to provide us with personal data. However, if you choose not to, this may prevent us from providing our products and services to you or certain features of our website and app.
In connection with the above, we may process the following personal data:
- Your name and contact details;
- Your profession (e.g. vet) and details of animals that you may be treating or own;
- Details of the products and services purchased or that you are interested in;
- Payment details and transaction data in order to process payments;
- Metadata associated with photographs that you may provide;
- Details of any issues you are having whether with our products and services or website and mobile applications; and
- Any other personal data that we may collect in connection with the above.
If you provide us with personal data relating to others, please make this Privacy Policy available to them.
Information we collect automatically: We collect some information about you automatically when you visit our website, mobile applications or use our services, which allows us to better understand how our website and mobile applications are performing and allows us to improve our website and mobile applications in the future. This information includes:
- your IP address;
- your device type, web browser type and web browser version;
- your operating system; and
- a list of URLs starting with a referring site, your activity on our site and the site you exit to.
No attempt is made to identify individual users or to associate the technical details listed above with any individual.

If you provide us with personal data related to another person (e.g. your client), please make them aware of this Privacy Policy and that their personal data may be processed in the manner described herein and Micron acts as a controller of their personal data.
How we share your data
There will be times when we need to share your personal data with third parties. We will only disclose your personal data to:
- third party service providers and partners who assist and provide services to us, for example, process payments on our behalf, support delivery of or provide functionality on the website, mobile applications or services;
- regulators, law enforcement bodies, government agencies, courts or other third parties where we think it’s necessary to comply with applicable laws or regulations, or to exercise, establish or defend our legal rights; and
- advisors or a potential buyer, transferee, merger partner and sellers, subject to confidentiality obligations, in connection with a transaction or the consideration of such.
For business accounts, the user that subscribed to the Micron service controls who may access the account. Where a business allows a number of individuals to access the business account (e.g. vets and veterinary nurses), those individuals may be able to view your personal data.
International Data Transfers
Micron stores and processes data inside of the European Economic Area (EEA), however, from time to time we may be required to transfer your data outside of the EEA for processing.
If and to the extent that we do so, we will ensure that your personal data will only be transferred to countries that have been identified by the European Commission as providing adequate legal protection for EEA data or that appropriate measures are in place to comply with our obligations under applicable law governing such transfers. This may include entering into a contract governing the transfer which contains the ‘standard contractual clauses’ approved for this purpose by the European Commission, undertaking a transfer impact assessment and implementing any required supplementary measures. How we protect your data
Security is a priority for us when it comes to your personal data. We’re committed to protecting your personal data and have appropriate technical and organisational measures in place to make sure that happens.
Information shared between your browser and our site is encrypted and secured using Secure Socket Layer (SSL/HTTPS) technologies, which creates a secure and encrypted medium of data transfer between your browser and our servers and adds a layer of security to prevent malicious attackers obtaining your personal data. We also use encryption and other advanced security measures where appropriate.
We also employ standard industry operating procedures and internal policies to ensure that your data remains secure, and continually monitor and improve the security of all hosting and storage infrastructure we use to store data.
Retention
The length of time we keep your personal data depends on what it is and whether we have an ongoing business and/or legal need to retain it (for example, to provide you with a service you’ve requested, or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements).
We’ll retain your personal data for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and for a period of time afterwards where we have an ongoing business or legal need to retain or to deal with any claim or dispute that may arise. Following that period, we’ll make sure it’s deleted or anonymised.
Your data protection rights
As it is your personal data that we may hold, in certain circumstances and subject to certain restrictions, you have a number of rights over this data.
When it comes to marketing communications, you can ask us not to send you these at any time by simply following the unsubscribe instructions contained in the marketing communication, or send your request to hello@micronagritech.com
Some of your rights over your personal data include:
- Right of Access – You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, together with other information about our processing of that personal data.
- Right to Withdraw Consent – Where our processing of your personal data is based on you having provided your consent, you have the right to withdraw such consent.
- Right of Rectification – You have the right to request that any inaccurate data that is held about you is corrected, or if we have incomplete information you may request that we update the information such that it is complete.
- Right to Erasure (the “right to be forgotten”) – You have the right to request us to delete personal data that we hold about you.
- Right to Restrict Processing – You have the right to request that we no longer process your personal data for particular purposes, or to object to our processing of your personal data for particular purposes.
- Right to Data Portability – You have the right to request us to provide you, or a third party, with a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used machine readable format.
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

If you’re not happy with how we are processing your personal data, please let us know by sending an email hello@micronagritech.com. We will review and investigate your complaint, and try to get back to you within a reasonable time frame. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission who will be able to advise you how to submit a complaint and their contact details are below.
